It is time to book Firework Displays in Hertfordshire as well as Christmas Events in St Albans and surrounding areas. St Albans always has many events locally over November and December, most events require pre booking and will sell out so don’t delay.
The busiest weekend has to be Friday 4th – Sunday 7th November 2022 with all of the Firework Events in St Albans, Harpenden, Redbourn and London Colney. I have a comprehensive list below including my top 3. Watford Borough Council and Redbourn Parish Council have got it right, they put on an amazing FREE Firework Display which is worth a visit.
Top 3 Firework Displays in Hertfordshire

OA’S RUGBY CLUB
BOOKING ESSENTIAL
4th November 2022 Gates open at 6.00pm, fireworks at 7.45pm
160 Harpenden Rd, St Albans AL3 6BB
I only found this firework display in 2021 and it is by far our family favourite. For the hour before the display the pitch is well lit so there is no chance of losing anyone, great mulled wine from Cellar Door and lot’s of food! It also means if you are a diehard firework fan you can still go to the huge display at Verulamium Park on Saturday.

ST ALBANS FIREWORKS SPECTACULAR
5th November 2022 Gates open at 6pm, display at 7.30pm
Verulamium Park, St Michael’s Street, St Albans AL1 3JE
This is HUGE! Hosted by St Albans Cathedral and started 30 years ago it has raised over £850,000 for local and national charities. This year’s nominated charities are Rennie Grove Peace Hospice Care, Emmaus and The Living Room, as well as St Albans Cathedral.
Produced by Fantastic Fireworks, this year’s display will be accompanied by Elvis music, ‘The golden reign of rock ‘n’ roll’. What’s not to love!
If you prefer a smaller display or would like to support a local school then check out my list below, these events are just as fantastic for the atmosphere but not as commercial as the huge St Albans and Watford ones. Parking is probably going to be easier if you are unable to walk and you will no doubt be adding to fundraising for their facilities. Some venues offer a quiet firework space with a view of the sky for those with younger children or those who need a break from the bangs – I have highlighted this in bold text.

REDBOURN FIREWORKS – FREE
5th November 2022 Funfair and food from 5.00pm, fireworks at 7.00pm
The Common, Redbourn, St. Albans, AL3 7Q
Lots to do… Funfair and Amusements arrive on Redbourn Common and usually stay for a few days around the event. There are also some community stalls, like Redbourn Scout Group selling hotdogs and other food and drink on the evening.
There is no admission fee to watch the display, there will be collections for donations to self fun the event in future years.
