No. 1 Bra

Visiting No. 1 Bra was great! I haven't been measured since pre-covid. The reason behind the name... you only ever have 1 favourite, comfy, well-fitting bra and Jen knows that this is it. Simple design, beautiful fabric and for me, the perfect fit. They also have a 'No Bounce Sport Bra' in grey and black which is again the best material, and very affordable pricing.

How long has your business been trading in St Albans and why is it unique?

No.1 Bra Launched in 2020 with Nadia Sawalha in Lockdown. The bras were instantly loved by Nadia when she tried them for the first time. This brand has granted patents that promote trusted comfort and style and the reason they are loved by women is because the designer has done something clever at the sides and they never dig in! So, No.1 Bra is completely unique and you cannot get these bras anywhere else in the world. The reviews are so overwhelmingly great that it you feel like you have to try one to see why the ladies are loving them so much. The other amazing thing about these bras, is because they never dig, if you have had any sort of breast surgery for any reason, you can still wear these bras. Therefore no lady is excluded from feeling there best and they have stylish comfortable bras to suit everyone.

What is your personal connection to the City other than your business?

I purchased my first house in Oster Street in the mid 90s and have stayed in the St Albans and Wheathampstead area with my family ever since.

Describe your business moto in 3 words.

Life changing Comfort Confidence!

1 life goal - this can be realistic or pure fantasy.

To help every woman that wants to try our bras to find their inner confidence so they can shine. The figure vastly changes in one of these bras and we see ladies coming alight with joy. Sounds a bit full on I know but this is really what happens in the fitting room. We want to increase our customer base and be well known.
Which celebrity would you like to work on a bra collaboration with?
Penny Lancaster and Davina McCall.
Jen to Karen: How can you help us reach more local women? As we are not on the High Street we don't have any awareness other than recommendation or events.
Karen: I think the St Albans Mums community is great for building local brands and companies awareness. I often shop locally as I know many do, I think once the word starts to spread locally on how comfy and well fitting your bras (and sport bras) are then more will follow. There are also lots of great opportunities to be part of pop up shops with other local brands.
