International Women’s Day: St Albans & Harpenden Brilliant Breakfast

What a morning!

To celebrate International Women’s Day, I hosted a Brilliant Breakfast and it was truly special. Around 120 incredible women came together in St Albans to celebrate achievements, share honest conversations and support one another.

Together we raised £4,732 for The King’s Trust, rising to an incredible £5,746 including Gift Aid. Knowing that this money will help support young people to build confidence, gain skills and create brighter futures made the morning even more meaningful.

St Albans & Harpenden Brilliant Breakfast Support

The atmosphere at Cosy Club, St Albans was amazing. There’s something incredibly powerful about bringing women together in one space – sharing experiences, learning from each other and celebrating successes both big and small.

A huge thank you to Trinder Hair Studios, who generously sponsored and co-hosted the event and helped make the morning possible.

We also had a brilliant panel discussion, expertly moderated by Lisa Smosarski, with Fiona Wade, Suzy Reading and Georgia Leslie sharing their experiences so openly and honestly with our guests. Their stories about challenges, achievements and supporting others really resonated with everyone in the room.

And to finish the morning on a high, Brownyn Sweeney had the whole room laughing with her fantastic comedy set.

Local Businesses Generosity

Of course, events like this only happen thanks to the generosity of so many people. A big thank you to everyone who donated raffle prizes, goody bag items and bags for our guests – your support helped make the event even more special. And to The Social Point who filmed the event.

The impact of the funds raised by St Albans & Harpenden Brilliant Breakfast

Sylvia Lowe, Director at The King’s Trust, shared how the money raised will make a real difference:

“Thank you for so generously supporting the 2026 St Albans and Harpenden Brilliant Breakfast in aid of The King’s Trust, as part of our Change A Girls Life campaign. This incredible total can help more young women, like Georgia, launch the future they want. Through our free training courses, grants for things like interview clothes, access to job opportunities, and ongoing mentorship, The King’s Trust will give young women facing adversity the skills and confidence to get into work and unlock their potential.

The money raised from this event could pay for hundreds of hours of one-to-one support with a dedicated youth worker or business mentor, for example.”

Seeing so many inspiring women come together for a great cause was a powerful reminder of what community can achieve.

Same time next year? 💫
